Military Specification AN316 thin jam nuts — plated steel, non-locking check nuts used to lock in adjustments where a male-threaded part screws only partway into a female-threaded part (rod ends, grub screws, bulkhead fittings, and similar). The AN316 is thinner than the AN315 specification for use in tighter installations. Available in both right-hand and left-hand thread. Sold individually.

Notes

The AN316 standard does not include the 10-32 size; that size conforms to the slightly thicker AN315 standard.
AN316-10L (5/8-18 left hand) uses a smaller hex and is not per Mil-Spec hex/thickness, though it meets AN316 material, strength, and finish requirements.
