ATL GA-BD-001 Viton Fuel Cell Gasket (formerly TF550V)
Genuine ATL (Aero Tec Laboratories) replacement gasket manufactured from Viton — the fluoroelastomer of choice for fuel system sealing. This is the correct service gasket for ATL fuel cell fill plates, filler necks, and valve housings using this pattern, sealing the joint between the component and the fuel cell to give a reliable, leak-free connection.
ATL part number GA-BD-001, which supersedes the former part number TF550V. Same gasket, updated ATL numbering — if your parts list, cell paperwork, or an older invoice calls out TF550V, GA-BD-001 is what you order now.
Cork vs. Viton — Which Do You Need?
- GT-BD-001 — Cork: the standard, economical choice for gasoline and pump-fuel applications. Cork conforms well to sealing surfaces and gives a dependable seal at the fill plate. Ideal for routine rebuilds on cells running conventional gasoline.
- GA-BD-001 (this gasket) — Viton: the premium fluoroelastomer upgrade for cells running ethanol/E85, methanol, or alcohol race fuels, or where maximum resistance to fuel attack and long service life is wanted.
- Both are the same pattern — pick your material by fuel type and budget. Running alcohol or E85? Choose the Viton GA-BD-001. Running pump gas and rebuilding on a budget? The cork GT-BD-001 is the traditional answer.
Why Viton?
Viton (FKM fluoroelastomer) is the premium sealing material for motorsport fuel systems because it resists gasoline, ethanol-blended pump fuels, methanol and alcohol race fuels, and the acids and aromatics that attack ordinary nitrile or cork gaskets. It stays resilient across a wide temperature range and resists the swelling, hardening, and cracking that cause fuel weeps at the fill plate over a season. For cells that see alcohol or E85, a Viton gasket isn’t a luxury — it’s the correct specification.
Typical Uses
- Fits Formula Mazda, Formula Ireland, Peugot and other cells.
- ATL fuel cell fill plate to bladder/container sealing
- Filler neck and filler cap base gaskets
- Valve housing and vent valve sealing
- Fuel pickup / sender / probe plate sealing on matching ATL patterns
- Replacing a worn, hardened, or fuel-swollen original gasket during a cell rebuild or FIA bladder re-certification

Installation Notes
- Inspect and replace the gasket any time the fill plate or valve housing is removed — a reused, compression-set gasket is a common source of fuel weeps.
- Ensure sealing surfaces are clean and free of old gasket material, grease, or debris before fitting.
- On fill plates, torque the bolts evenly in a crisscross pattern to seat the gasket uniformly, and remember ATL’s static-ground-strap bolt location (clean off any paint/anodizing at that hole for conductivity).
- Do not use sealant on Viton unless specified — the gasket is designed to seal on clamp load alone.
