Drive Bolts for Floating Brake Discs, Van Diemen ’94-current

This special bolt is used to attach the floating brake disc to the hub on late-model Van Diemen FF1600, FC, and F2000 cars:

• Uses 1/4-28 jet nut.
• 7/32″ allen socket.
• Typically used with LD20 or LD19 floating brake rotors/ discs.
• Made from 35 Chromoly steel.
• Two flats on the bolt seat to allow for fitment within brake disc.
• Fits Primus LD19 & Primus LD20 discs. Also fits PFC discs with part numbers 255.10.0042.03 and PFC 255.10.0042.04. Note that these rotors are no longer available from PFC.
• These need to be replaced every year to keep brake disc floating properly. The corners wear over time and become rounded off defeating the method of how this part maximizes performance. The “floating” allows for thermal expansion of the rotors while keeping unneeded friction to a minimum.
• Sold individually, typical rotor uses 6 of these bolts.

Tech Tip: When installing floating rotors, do not tighten any of the hardware until all bolts and nuts are in place. Try to position each bolt approximately in the center of its slot with the flats parallel to the sides of the slot. Tighten each one a little, then move on to the next one. This may take several times around the rotor before everything is tight. If you tighten the hardware unevenly, or install a bolt at one end of its slot, the rotor will bind and may not be able to float in any direction.
