FF1600 Forged Piston Set, Standard Size 3.191″ Bore by Carrillo & Ivey Engines

These forged Carrillo pistons by Ivey Engines are legal for SCCA Formula Ford effective 1 January 2005 per FCS 9.1.1.B.12.e.2. They are designed to be an exact replacement for the stock Ford pistons.

• Forged pistons are more stable than standard cast pistons, which allows them to resist skirt collapse better than cast pistons.
• These pistons fit the standard 3.188″ (81mm) bore Kent “Uprated” engine only and are shaped to keep the mandated 9.3:1 compression ratio.
• Set of four pistons, four wrist pins, and wire-loc wrist pin retainers are included.
• Wire-loc cir clips are 0.812″ pin bore dia x 0.063″ thick.
• FF1600 Piston Rings for standard pistons (Part No. FF1600-3191-RING) sold separately.

Beware of non-compliant pistons! Very similar pistons are currently on the market elsewhere, but only these genuine Ivey pistons are legal in SCCA.

Kent engine blocks started out with a 3.188″ bore and cast pistons. Once forged pistons became available and worn blocks became commonplace through use, the 3.191″ bore size was allowed by SCCA starting on 1 January 2005. After more wear and sleeving on many blocks, the “0.005” oversized” pistons at 3.196″ bore size was allowed by SCCA starting 1 January 2007.
