FF1600 Piston Ring Set, Standard Size 3.188″- 3.191″ Bore by Ivey Engines

These Ivey Engines piston rings fit both the original Ford pistons and the SCCA-legal forged pistons (standard 3.188″ / 81mm bore and 3.191″ bore) on the Formula Ford 1600 Kent “Uprated” engine.

• This is a full set of rings for 4 pistons (enough for one complete engine).
• Our rings are oversized to give you enough extra material to file the ring end gaps as tight as you like. These rings are oversized and must be filed (gapped) to fit your engine.
• The oil rings in this set have standard tension for better sealing at the expense of a little friction. You can adjust the tension to your exact requirements by slightly tweaking the oil ring expander.
• Fits FF1600 Standard Pistons.
• Note: These rings ONLY fit the standard 81mm bore (after filing to fit). If you have re-honed your cylinders to the SCCA-permitted 0.005″ oversize (3.196″), you will need different rings to fit the 0.005″ oversize pistons.

Kent engine blocks started out with a 3.188″ bore and cast pistons. Once forged pistons became available and worn blocks became commonplace through use, the 3.191″ bore size was allowed by SCCA starting on 1 January 2005. After more wear and sleeving on many blocks, the “0.005” oversized” pistons at 3.196″ bore size was allowed by SCCA starting 1 January 2007.
