This beautifully machined and rugged steering rack by Fast Forward Racing Components fits Van Diemen chassis’ from 1990 through current among others. Each rack is made by hand and individually assembled for a perfect fit and function.
- Comes with steering rack and two chassis mounting brackets.
- Mounting bracket holes are 1/4″ diameter 1-3/4″ apart center-to-center vertically when installed.
- Bracket mounting holes are 9-7/16″ center-to-center across the length of the rack.
- Comes factory lubricated for life! There is no maintenance plan for this steering rack, because you shouldn’t have any maintenance for the life of it. Comes pre-packed with Mobil 1 red synthetic grease.
Installation recommendations:
- Do not overtighten the mounting clamps, hand tight is enough! Over torquing can cause the housing to collapse and compress the steering rack. This can bind the rack and require increased steering force input from the driver.
- Recommend red-Loctite on installation bolts to chassis.
- Fast Forward recommends these are greased for life, so unless there is an extenuating need to grease them, best to leave alone and not risk internal damage.
