$199.59

Upgraded design over OEM steering shaft or steering column support for ’98-up Van Diemen F1600 and F2000 and Elan DP08 cars:
- The black anodized bracket includes a 7/8″ bore bearing.
- Requires no modifications to the chassis.
- Five holes for installation to adjust the steering column angle to suit drivers need.
- 0.65lbs total weight with bearing.
- The original steering shaft support on 1998 and later Van Diemen chassis uses a very loose split race bearing. The excessive play in the stock part leads to a sloppy steering feel as well as premature wear. This beautifully machined aluminum support replaces the original part with a high-quality, PTFE-lined spherical bearing for smooth steering operation with no free play.
- Labelled as part 98H2002- Mounting Steering Column in original Van Diemen and other parts catalogs.
Note 1: The OD of the original Van Diemen steering shaft can vary by +/- 0.001″. If your steering shaft is slightly oversized, a light polish with an abrasive pad will allow it to slip into the new bearing.
Note 2: Once your steering shaft is fitted to the bearing, use a drop of Loctite 609 Green Bearing Mount to prevent the shaft from rotating inside the bearing and grinding on the shaft O.D. Failure to do this could eventually cause a loose fit in the bearing and excessive play.
